Fear, Maslow, and Web3-#ThisIsTheWay
Fear represents perhaps the most basic of human instincts, hence that which removes, relieves, or reconciles our fears manifests as the most archetypal good. A mother protecting her child, the warmth of home after an arduous journey, and the ease and comfort of the right solutions to life’s challenges.
Of the latter category, there is no greater trepidation-evoking conundrum in our adult lives than the human process of achieving financial security for our families. While the concept of what constitutes “financial security” is a purely subjective entity, the potentially crippling anxiety that perseveration over the topic creates is not so variable.
About a year ago, I was inveigled by an old student of mine to venture into cryptocurrencies. He gave me a single $ETH as a gift- not only are we connected by my having been his teacher and coach, but turns out we both had the same cancer in the last 2 years,the same surgery, chemo and hence we are more like brothers now. The gift was generous- but it came with a warning- hang on, because it is quite a ride.
One part of this epic journey, which I endeavor to always remain in a neophytic stage of optimal growth, that I did not expect is the intense passion for the learning this whole new world has to offer. The infinite proverbial rabbit holes down which to climb fuels the passion- but, like the rollercoaster ride of being in such a fabulously volatile space, it inspires both intense thrills and crippling fright. While this has not once deterred me, a solution that is comforting, easy, concise, and mobile has been from day one the ideal for any noob to have the comfort necessary to endure the peaks and valleys of this realm in pursuit of our personal holy financial grail.
In order to appease the fear of the unknown, of the overwhelming choices, directions, options, and of a language and paradigm that seems not so much foreign, but almost alien, we must find solutions that comfort us with maternal touch. Web3, the blockchain, the cryptospace- these are the hotbeds of tropic intensity wherein the seeds of solution are growing fruitfully well.
These liberating Maslowian solutions are found around every corner, and there are such dynamic environs that each individual has opportunity to seek that which fuels and reconciles most naturally.
While my personal journey began with a single ETH, a @Celsius wallet, and a @Coinbase account, it has found me not only going down a rabbit hole- I have bought acreage, moved in, and am building for others to help heal the world- a world my children will inhabit and where they will raise my grandchildren and our progeny beyond.
In the interim time since that first beautiful gesture, that expanded beyond the value of a digital asset to include the gift of a new life, I have traded, invested, researched, networked, farmed, learned, and now I am a builder. I build compositions to share with communities, to teach and inspired, I build relationships to support and grow, and I build tools to create fun, benevolent experiences. In short, I am hopefully, and humbly building a meaningful legacy, arm and arm with all the inhabitants of this space, that will transcend the financial components central to such endeavors, and have a social impact in galvanizing a stronger global community.
Whether we are building a global decentralized stablecoin for all the world to use, as @StableKwon is doing with $UST @Terra_Money, generating perpetual endowment charities as @chauncey_stjohn is doing at Angel Protocol, or building powerful full ecosystems with use cases to provide real world, scientific, medical, health, social, and creative solutions as we find across @HarmonyProtocol, Cardano Foundation. @RunOnFlux , Polygon, ChainLink ethereum, Bitcoin and many others, we are the builders, the pioneers, the courageous torch-bearers who are changing the world.
As the skilled philosopher, mathematician, astronomer Titan Atlas invented and held aloft the first celestial sphere, we are hoisting the decentralized space into a heightened space, where users can experience and pursue powerful financial activity, interest, and expertise. And once the comfort and confidence are attained, and we are ready to spread our wings into more advanced domains. My family and I are all in- adventure has brought my children closer to me- whether it is my daughter pouring her passion for art into #NFTs and learning about finance through staking and investing, or my son learning #Python alongside me on my Raspberry Pi HQ, this is truly a family experience.
